The Inter Fraternity council philanthropy and community service programs provide chapter members with opportunities to raise money for worthy causes and with positive experience in assisting others while educating them about the importance of volunteering as a member of society.
IFC promotes and supports an interactive relationship between the campus and the surrounding communities to continually involve Greeks in substantial philanthropic endeavors. Attention is give to both human services to the community and to charitable fundraising.
![]() The mission of the Adopt-A-School national community service project is to foster individual relationships between college students and elementary school children. This special attention has been proven to improve a child’s academic performance, enhance their self-esteem, and improve their attendance record. The highlight for many children is simply having one special person who cares enough to spend time with them each week.
Community service is an excellent source for group bonding and spending time together helping others.
Philanthropy is an effort or act of good will to help others – either by performing a direct service to people or organizations in the community or by raising money for a worthy cause.
Every semester, fraternity members will perform shocking acts that range from running to Bradley from Bloomington or taking a ride on a mattress down Fredonia Ave. or dressing as a drag queen and performing a talent in front of the rest of Greek community in the name of charity …. And have fun doing it.
